The movement of raw material begins at the Bellary-Hospet-Sandpur belt in Karnataka, India, which is rich in high grade Iron-Ore deposits. After checking for grade and quantity of the ore, PVG trucks are loaded at the mines for transportation to the nearest railway station. At the railway station, Iron-Ore is loaded onto railway rakes for carriage up to Tinaighat. Almost 3-4 trains are loaded with Iron-Ore everyday, which amounts to a huge quantity of 10,000 tonnes a day. An amount of 5000 tonnes of Iron-Ore is also transported by trucks to Tinaighat. PVG uses the latest 10 wheeler trucks and 188 wheelers like Volvos, to ensure fast and free movement of the ore.

Railway rakes and trucks are unloaded at Tinaighat for further transportation upto the jetty by 6 wheelers trucks. Once at the jetty, Ore is loaded into barges, which takes them to ships anchored 5-10 kilometers at sea. Iron-Ore is then transferred from the barge onto the ship and exported to China. Throught the process, PVG continuously monitors the movement of material for ensuring exact quality and quantity of the ore as its timely loading and unloading.

Quantity of the Iron-Ore is always ensured by measuring the weight at computerised weight bridges during loading and unloading. The truck loads are always sealed and Challans are issued with time and date of loading and delivery. PVG also has extra trucks on standby to act as backup in case extra loads are required.

PVG used a network of computer for continuously monitoring the movement of Iron-Ore on a 24 hours, 7 days week basis. Loading and Unloading activity is performed by using mechanised equipment like wheel loaders and chain loaders. Skilled supervisors monitor the operations of loading, unloading and movement, to ensure that it is always.
